NEW BUS SERVICES TO BE PHASED IN THIS YEAR – NASH

21 March 2019

Senator Ged Nash has received confirmation from the National Transport Authority (NTA) that the new and improved bus services he has worked to secure for the Drogheda area will all be phased in in 2019.

He explained;

“The new Route D4 and D5 services (Southgate Shopping Centre – Ballymakenny College) and (Southgate Shopping Centre to Aston Village) will provide a 15-minute co-ordinated service that will also serve the Crosslanes/Boyle O’Reilly Terrace area. This will ensure a good cross-town bus service for the Lourdes Hospital and for students of DIFE.

“The first of the new services to be introduced will be the D2 route which, combined with the current Route D1will provide a combined 15 minute frequency from Laytown to Drogheda. Route D2 will operate along the Golf Links Road and it is planned to go live next June.

“These improvements along with the securing of enhanced bus services for the people of Termonfeckin & Clogherhead by Michelle Hall, is great news for local communities and will take more people out of their cars and on to public transport.”
